How do you ignore hidden COLUMNS in a countif() function

I know there is a similar thread about this that evaluates hidden ROWS. But how do you translate the formula to exclude hidden COLUMNS? Please help. Thanks.

As far as I know there is no way to exclude hidden columns with a formula. There is the subtotal function, but that only works for hidden rows.
