Sorting values and names with complex formulas

I want to sort data based on values that are calc'd using complex formulas. Any advice on how to do that?

For more detail, I'm calc'ing revenue for a list of countries. one column has the country name, which is hard-coded. The next column over is calc'ing the revenue for that country. Revenue calc is using index/match formula and also vlookup formula to run the calc. Sometimes when I then sort it by the output number, it sorts the countries correctly in descending order, other times it's all screwy.

Thoughts?

1. Make sure each column has header
2. Utilize "Custom Sort" to make sure of columns be the master of the sort
3. Maybe Turn off AutoCalc during the sort ... your complex formula might be calculating while the sort is going on.
