Need to use a text string from another cell as a variable range in another equation.

    Hello,

I am using an array formula which references a static range currently. I would like to use a text string from another cell as a variable, and then enter this range, written as a text string, and insert into the equation below.

    =OFFSET(INDEX(B$30:B$58,MATCH(MIN(ABS(B$30:B$58-B97)),ABS(B$30:B$58-B97),0)),0,B$79)
The text string is below. Please note the ranges are the same for this example but change cell to cell.

    B$30:B$58
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

To ask the question in an easier way...

I want to do the following:

    Change the equation

    =MAX(B$30:B$58)

    into

    =MAX(B3) where cell value of B3 = B$30:B$58

    Can this be done?

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =MAX(INDIRECT(B3))

Awesome! Had no clue about the "indirect" function.

    Thank you so much!
