Counting Tracks Played Over a Period

    Hi All

I'll get straight to the point. I have a playlist of tracks that have been played from a playlist over the period of a month, I have the list in excel format and need to use the countif formula to show me the following.

Show me how many times each unique track has been played in that month.

I believe the countif formula is the right one to use but can't work out how to do it. It may be that I have to create a second column to list all the unique tracks from the first column then create a third column showing how many times each has been played, or is this complicating things?

I hope this makes sense, if not let me know and I will try and explain a little better.

    Thanks in advance

    Nelix

    Re: CountIF

I would recommend highlighting the data, then applying a Pivot Table. If you put the Track Names in the rows, and the dates played in the columns, then you should get a count by default.

If you're not familiar with Pivot Tables, you're in for treat. No need to manually consolidate any data summary, the Pivot Table does it for you, just need to get in there and get your feet wet.
