Conditional formatting with dates NOT based on today

    Hi,
I have a database with dates complaints were received in column D. In column G there is a date the response was sent. I need cells for dates in column G that are 10 days past the corresponding date in column D to turn red. I have tried sorting this out for the last 2 hours and am pulling my hair out! Thanks!

    does this help?...

basically you substract your date in col G from Col D and see if it's greater than 10

    =$G1-$D1>10

format to Red background with white letters....

No this did not work. I have 278 rows of data starting with G2 and need each cell in G to be subject to the 10 days past D condition. I have a second rule set up for blanks in G to turn red as well. Please let me know what other info would be helpful, this is driving me nuts!

What about Judge's solution "did not work"? I extended his solution down to row 332 and it seems fine? If this is still not what you want, then can you upload an example workbook showing what you expect to happen? (Go Advanced>Manage Attachments)
