    Summing Products of 2 Columns

    Hello Everybody!

I intend to find the Sum of Commission amounts; based on the Quantity of items and their respective Rate of Commission.
I do NOT want to add another column containing the commission amount of each row and then finding their Sum. I am looking for an intuitive formula.
I have attached the sample file for the reference. Please help!

    Regards

Re: Summing Products of 2 Columns

    Hi again!

While using the formula, told by Ace_XL, I realized my data demands a bit more of it. Actually, my data is spread over many months, and I need to calculate the commission on monthly basis. My date format is "dd-MMM-YY". Is it possible to calculate it month-wise? Moreover, I am using SUBTOTAL functions, as well. It will be even better, if I could combine them with the the SUMPRODUCT function.
For convenience, I have attached the modified data, again.
I hope you geeks will not mind asking again and any help will be highly appreciated.

    In D11

    =SUMPRODUCT((TEXT($B$3:$B$7,"mmm, yy")=C11)*$D$3:$D$7*$E$3:$E$7)

    Copy down
