Question Which Function to be used?

    Hello experts!

I have excel file which contains 5 (five) working sheets. On the first sheet I write daily incomes from different clients. The total number of clients are seven hundred (700) and some of them pay the 1st of January, others 5th of january and ets. So, at the end of month they all will pay me. The daily payment is written on the first working sheet. And the last (5th) working sheet contains all of clients. The same client who pays for exaple: on the 3rd of january is located on the first working sheet on A 5 address. But this user have different address on the last working sheet (ex: D 123). I need a function that when I write payment on the first working sheet it would be written on the last sheet in front of the same client. Which function and how can I do it?

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,
    Khalid Naghiyev

I urge you to change your layout so that you have a proper normalised database.

Create column headers for things like
    Date
    Client Ref/Name
    Transaction Type
    Amount
...and any other fields you think relevant.

The Tranasaction type column would be drop down cells from where you would pick values like "Invoice", "Payment", and perhaps others.

Record all your transactions in a continuing list/ DOing it this way you will be able to create reports like outstanding cash and other analyses without any trouble. Once you start complicating things by having raw data across several sheets you're into complications. That's not to say you shouldn't also have a separate table of client names/addresses/contact details etc since that's a different data set.

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).
