Seeking Goal without using Goal Seek

This post was meant to have the subject of Seeking Goal without using Goal Seek

Sorry, I'm a bit brain dead today.

Looking to find two numbers needed that will meet a goal, as a result of past work.
Note: The completed work goal is 92%

If as of yesterday 100 units of work was assigned and only 84 were completed, then 84%
Note: To meet the monthly goal today, 100 more units of work need to be assigned & completed to recover the 92% goal.

So, in the remaining month how much work must be assigned to meet the 92% goal?
The assumption will be 100% of future work assigned will be completed.

Below, I'm looking for two formulas one for A9 and one for B9

    In your example use

    =(A9*C9-B3)/(A9-A3)
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!

Thank you for the quick reply.
    I didn't explain well enough.

I'm looking for the formula to place into A9 (or B9).
The resulting formula, if for A9 will return a result of 200
The formula in B9 would simply be =(A9-A3)+b3

    In the end B9/A9=92%

Re: Seeking Goal without using Goal Seek

    84 / 100 = .84

    b / a = c

    (b + x) ÷ (a + x) = (((.92 - c) ÷ c) + 1) * c

Tell WolframAlpha to solve for X cuz I'm lazy:

    http://www.wolframalpha.com/widget/w...showWarnings=1

    x = (1/2) * (23a-25b)

    A9:
    =1/2*(23*A3-25*B3)+A3

    B9:
    =1/2*(23*A3-25*B3)+B3
