Question Count for specific criteria

Hello,

I am completely new to using Excel. I made Jan 10-24 as an initial layout solution for my personal budgeting issues. What I can't figure out is this: How would I be able to separately count the instances under the "For?" Column (Apartment, Supllies, and Misc.) and put the result in another cell Located to the upper right? Which is located by the title. My intention is to try and see where I spend my money in these 3 categories.

Re: What do I do? I am new to Excel; Thank you kindly.

Hi, welcome to the forum

For future reference, please take a moment to read the forum rules reggarding thread titles and naming threads with something descriptive of your problem (think google search terms?)...I will change it for you - this time

Take a look at using =COUNTIF() for what you want. You did not provide any data to work with, so try it and let me know?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
