I am trying to use =countif function to count how many variables are there with this characteristics:
1. they are right above a constant, that is in my case a word "YES"
2. in the same line(but not always the on the same place in the line, sometimes 3, sometimes 4 spaces away) there is another constant in my case "PICK"
how do i write countif function that includes 3 parametres?
You need countifs, not countif. It'd be easier to help if you posted an Excel sheet - showing what you want.
Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

I would keep it simple, and add a helper column. Without seeing your data structure, I can't provide a precise solution, but as an example, something like:

OK, so for a few of these what answer to you expect, and why?
oh, sorry.. i asked the wrong question. if i want to count i can just count "W" parameters, but i want to sum that variables that are above pick and also in line with "W"
i want to sum 2,25 1,62 but not 3.9 and so on
