I'm trying to get a formula that will look at 2 separate rows of cells and give me a count that meets certain conditions. In the example row 1 has the type of pet (some multiple) and row 2 uses an "*" to signify that it's on hand. I would want the formula to look at row 1 and if it's a "dog" to then look at row 2 for any "dog" cell that also has an "*". Then do the same for all the other pets. Attached is an example.

Place this in C:6 =COUNTIFS(B1:L1,"Dog",B2:L2,"*") then in the additional cells replace "Dog" with "Cat" etc.
