Populating Cells Based on A List

Hello - I'm still a bit of an Excel beginner but I know enough to get by, however I'm now trying to do something that I think should be possible, but can't figure out.

I'd like to create cells that automatically fill out when an item is selected from a list. For example, I've created a list of schools. Each school has one of four different school colors and one of four different mascots. I'd like to select the school from the drop down list, and have the school color and mascot automatically update in their respective cells on the same sheet.

It feels like a simple question because everything I've found so far shows me how to create dependent drop down lists (that is, you select one item from a list and makes a different list based on your selection) but that ISN'T what I'm looking for - I do not want the school color and mascot to be on a list, I want them to automatically show up based on whatever school is chosen originally. Is this possible?
