    Conditional averaging

First off, my apologies if this has been answered somewhere. I skimmed thru the first couple of pages of headlines and didn't find an answer.

I need to average a row of cells, but only need to include that cell if the value is greater than 0.

I'm a novice at Excel. Ya know, just enough to be dangerous....

    Thanks in advance.

Put this formula in the cell you want the average to show

    Re: Conditional averaging

What gmr said except you can use AVERAGEIF(A1:Z1, ">0", A1:Z1)

    assuming data is in A1:Z1

    Re: Conditional averaging

Go with ChemistB's solution, I forgot you wanted the average of the cells, not the sum.
