    Ranking two variables

    Hi there,

I was wondering if someone would be able to help with a ranking formula I am trying to do.
I have attached a sheet which shows the problem I'm trying to solve.
I have a list of names and the "class" that each name belongs to. I then have scores / ranks for each day of the week (some of the ranks are the same!)
In column L I have a data validation so I basically just want to be able to select the day and select the class and have it return the list of names and their rank for that day. So for example, if I selected Tuesday and Class A, it would automatically show the 4 names (& order) I have shown in the picture in green.

Hopefully this makes sense and you can sort of understand what I'm getting at!
Any help would be so appreciated.
    Thanks everyone.

    Sam

What criteria do you wish to use for ranking when there are identical scores? Jack and Owen are the same on Tuesday.

Hi Flame, thanks for your reply.
Is it possible to have them so they are equal ranks? So both of them have a rank of 3?
I know my table in green showed 3 and 4.... ignore that!!
    Thank you

Another slightly different approach; different results. Helper column P. Array entered.
