How to return a value in a column where the date in another column falls between two dates

I'm trying to write a formula to lookup a value in column H, where the date in column B falls between two dates. Essentially I have an amortization table for a loan, and I want to show the interest amount of the payment on a summary tab, where the payment date falls within a certain month. Eg, It's January, show me January's interest amount! But the date of the payment could be any day in the month. I have multiple loans/amortization tables and the payment dates are all different.

Hope this makes sense! I've tried an IF/AND with a VLOOKUP and couldn't get it right.

    Hi ..

Welcome to the forum.. Look like can be achieved through Month and year combination.. can you please attach a sample file..

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

Something like this should do the job.

Don't mind the cell references. They're dummies.
And the numbers used in the date-function can be replaced by variable, of course.
    Cheers!

My date isn't in B1 though - I need to look up the row where the date is between two dates. Eg the month is January, and my payment date is 1/5/15. I want to look up the row where the date (in this case 1/5/15) is between 1/1/15 (B1) and 1/31/15 (B2)
