    Excel Countif problem

Hi I`m trying to put a formula in Excel which I think should be simple but cant get to work.
    COST_ENG_NAME SPARES SPARES_DESC

In the first column are a list of different engineers and all I want to do is count the number of times different parts in from column B appear against that engineer. i.e
    Column A Column B Count
    Engineer 1 Part A - 2
    Engineer 1 Part A - 2
    Engineer 1 Part B - 1
    Engineer 2 Part A - 1

Hope this makes sense, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Re: Excel Countif problem

You would use COUNTIFS rather than COUNTIF.
