Hello, I'am trying to use a formula in a certain cell. basically what i want to do is : "If there is the text "PEBD" in the cell D4, do the next formula."
I did this : =IF(D:D="PEBD",F:F/1000*R$3,""), but is not working. Any ideas?, I'm new in Excel.

Yes, but it doesn't work, it marks an error... #NAME? .... and besides and want to do it with the whole columm... not just only D4 and F4... a mean D5 wirh F5, D6 with F6 ... and so on
You enter a formula row by row. You can copy and paste the formula to other rows an it will automatically adjust the cell references.
Yes, BUT with the formula: =IF(D4="PEBD",F4/1000*R$3,"") it marks me an ERROR, it says #NAME?
Suggest you upload a sample workbook. There doesn't look to be anything wron with the formula.
I've found the error... the problem is that I speak Spanish and my version of Excel only admits Spanish Formulas, it works with "SI" instead "IF", thanks

New quick method:
Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.

Go to the first post
Click edit
Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
Click Save
