EXCEL 2003 - Need an "AVERAGEIF" formula to exclude "0" in average

This is my second day on this issue. I need to average a row but do not want to include any rows with "0". I have tried =AVERAGEIF(range,">0",range) and this does not work with 2003. Also, how do you get cells to 'not' calculate if another data cell is missing information? (i.e. my spreadsheet contains times and I am looking for the difference between these times....I have the correct formulas for this, but want to add something to the formula that will show my time difference AND will not show "0" for those rows that data has not yet been entered.

You need to do this with an array* formula, like this:

    =AVERAGE(IF(range>0,range))

*An array formula needs to be committed using the key combination of Ctrl-Shift-Enter (CSE), rather than the usual <Enter>.

For the other query, you would need something like this:

    =IF(OR(A1="",B1=""),"",B1-A1)

where A1 is the start time and B1 the finish time.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
