Conditional Format

Hello,

I have a spreadsheet column A (A11:A375) with all the dates for a year listed Jan 1 - Dec 31
I then have row 2 with dates sample H2 5-Feb, I2 29-Jan, J 6-Mar ETC

I want to highlight the empty cell if the data in the Column matches the date above it in row 2.

Re: Conditional Format

You want to highlight the empty cell if it matches something??

Anyway, perhaps...
1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =match(A11,$H$2:$H$2,0)

1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Conditional Format

Thank you,

You put me on the right path but the above code placed in one column all the row 2 date of every column so revised the code =MATCH(A11:A375,$H$2,0) so does 1 entry per column but will have to do the format 27 times but that fine..

Again thank you, get it working then i'll spend time refine as learn better ways to do it..

Re: Conditional Format

=MATCH(A11:A375,$H$2,0)
You cannot change the syntax/refs like that.
Syntax is...
=match(criteria,range,exact)
so if I had the ranges the wrong way round (I though I might have), then try this...
=match(H2,$A$11:$,$A$375,0)
