    Here!

Assuming the 1st formula will go in Cell C2

    =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("CW",B2)),"CWP",B2)
    Cheers!

Change cell reference B2 to your actual cell Reference

    =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("CW",B2)),"CWP",B2)

    Drag it down...

    WOAH!!! your formula are excellent!

Could you help to explain it to me?
    ISNUMBER means what?

Search CW at B2 then result = CWP, the rest copy?

Re: Formula to change exsiting name to new name

Okay, I will explain it for you

In Excel we have to read the excel formula's from Inside to Out

    SEARCH(find_text,within_text)
    SEARCH("CW",B2)

Search will return the position of the text. If the value of find_text is not found, the #VALUE! error value is returned.

using IsNumber() to check whether the returned value of Search() is number or error value. IsNumber() will result True if it is number and False if Search() returns Error.

    If(Logical Part (i.e) True/False,Value if True,Value if False)

    =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("CW",B2)),"CWP",B2)
