Help with Dates between function

I need some help with what should be a simple formula, but I just can't get it to work.

I have four sets of dates, and I need a IF function to determine if a specified date falls between one of those dates.

My four sets of dates:

D1 , D2

D3, D4

D5, D6

D7, D8

The date I want to check is A1, So check if A1 falls between d1,d2 or d3,d4 or d5,d6 or d7,d8

I can manage checking if the date falls between one set of dates, but I get a error message, or too many arguments message when trying together.

If you have the time, I really appreciate the help.
