    Display as a Number

I want to display '2+' in some cells on my spreadsheet and have excel use this as '2' for the purposes of calculations. How do I format the 2+ cell to accomplish this?

Can I ask a silly question? Why?

    Anyway... format as # +

The ' is mentioned just to separate it from the text in my post. It isn't used on the formula cell. I'm not able to share my sheet.
