Errors When Changing Values in Circular Calculations

    Hi all,

I am unable to upload a spreadsheet for some reason, unfortunately,

But I have a spreadsheet with a fairly simple circular calculation (no more than 40 cells in total, and not all part of the circular calculation)
I wrote in all the formulas, checked them, and once I enabled iterative calculations, the cells returned values as expected so I believe there is no error in the formulas.
The problem is that now if I change any value (i.e. I am trying to find optimal conditions for a system and want to change the input value of one cell), some cells that are part of the iteration climb to infinity with each change. For example, a cell with an equation that is simply =F35-G36, where F35 is ~2942 and G36 is ~956, returns #NUM!. It affects some cells but not others. Sometimes when I change a value they will all change in agreeance, but once they start climbing/return #NUM! error they will not return to the proper value. I am new to using iterative calculations so I believe it could be a simple limit of the function that I am not aware of.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I do not know how much you know about Circular References.....You can not create a formula based on same cell....
I would advise you to google it.....your doubts will be cleared.....

Re: Errors When Changing Values in Circular Calculations

Since I still can't upload, this is the next best I could do - I turned off iterations to show the circular references

Then turned it back on, changed the value of the highlighted cell, and then turned iterations back off to show the circular references

The top row of cells is the summation of the column, so hopefully my problem is visible - the summations are not correct and this keeps increasing to +/- infinity.

    Hi,
I have seen the images but it is not possible to get to know how the formulas are working from behind...
Can you send me an email to [email protected]

    Hi,
It is working correctly in my system.
Three may be add-ins issue. I am currently using excel 2010.
