DV help require

Hi friends,

In column ‘N’ I want to enter a receipt no. >0 and if the receipt no. is duplicate then enter a capital letter ‘D’ before a receipt no. only and not any other letter. Now it’s taking other letters before duplicate receipt no. I also don’t want to allow to enter any character other than >0 or a letter ‘D’ before duplicate receipt no.

In column ‘P’ I want to enter a amount >=0 only and not any other characters or numbers. At present it’s taking other characters other than a amount >=0.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

For column 'N' the formula is not working as per requirement. It's taking any letter before a receipt no. I want to take a capital letter 'D' before a duplicate number only and not any other letter. If I enter a duplicate receipt no. then I want to have a letter 'D' before a receipt no. automatically.

For column 'P' it's not allowing any value if there is a duplicate receipt no. preceded by a letter 'D'. If there is a duplicated receipt number in column 'N' then I want a 0 value only in column 'P'.

If it's not possible by dv formula then I will like to use a vba solution for it.

Is it able to use N column for input, and an extra column (helper column M) for output?

i.e N1 = 123 ____M1=123
N2=123 ________M2=D123

No, I don't any helping column because thee is a another data in my original file. Doesn't matter of automatic letter 'D', forget it. I will enter it manually. Is it possible to restrict other letters to be enter in column 'N' except 'D'?

I'm getting error 'the range specified could not be found' after entering a formula suggested by jhren.
