how to create search suggestion drop down list in mac excel

am looking for formula or method where i can create auto fill suggested drop down list ..i have very long list of items and most of them are repeated again and again but when i type in excel cell it only suggest recent active cell information ..i have tried data validation but i have to scroll down all the entire list to look for my item...so is it possible to make auto complete typing in an excel data validation list? am using macbook pro
