Thanks in advance

In G2, enter this...
=IF(A2=D2,B2,"")
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

You would have to put a formula in cell G2:Formula:Please Login or Register to view this content.

Daffodil, I was thinking teh very same thing...same thing...thing
what the ... what ... wha ...
At least we all came up with the same formula. Could have been embarrassing otherwise
Thanks!!!
Just to make things a little more confusing .....
What if the number (student id, in my case) in A2 does not fall in D2 but rather somewhere else in column D? I still need that data from B2 to go to the corresponding row in column G.
Example:
A2 has 1234 (student id varies) B2 has 100 (grade varies)
On my roster student 1234 is on D7 and I need the 100 from B2 to go to G7 ????
Sorry I know it's confusing ... Well at least to me
Would this be a VLookup formula ???
VLOOKUP, INDEX, LOOKUP, all viable candidates.
=VLOOKUP(D2,$A$2:$B$500,2,0) and copy down
