IF "text" present with valueA >0, return valueB matching "text"

    Hi there,

I apologise for the poor title, but I'm struggling to figure out which functions to combine (and/or the order of functions) for a dataset.

I receive data from someone else in the following format [see 'Received data'! in attached file]: Column A contains names of object, column B sum of object, column C volume of object.

I have a list of object names with a matching reference value [first 2 columns in 'TP-values'! in attached file].

What i want in my cell is to return the reference value IF the matching object is present with a sum > 0 in the received data.

    I.e. for cell C4:

I might be overcomplicating stuff by trying to get everything in one formula. Is it easier to take it step by step and first establish present/absent, then if present return sum, then if sum > 0 return reference value? The problem then is that I still need to match text to value somehow.

I assume I need to combine IF, LOOKUP?, MATCH functions, possibly AND/OR. But I'm unfamiliar with most functions that deal with text.

I hope I've provided enough information, and someone can help.

This formula in C2 should work.

    WOW! that was quick.

Works a treat, thanks a million. I've never used the IFERROR function before.

If I want to extend this to the next months data, how do I write the INDEX matrix (to give column A and D)?

EDIT: Figured it out. Turned out I needed to mark the matrix with the mouse and not just extend editing the cell text. For some reason excel doesn't update the cell if I do it that way.
