    Formula / Timestamp

    Good Evening,

I'm trying to find a formula that will extract the Date in a DD/MM/YYYY format from a timestamp from an automated excel report that has the format DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM.

Timestamp in cell D6 results to appear in I6.

    Any Help is greatly appreciated.

    Re: Formula / Timestamp

    This should work in I6:
    =DATE(YEAR(D6),MONTH(D6),DAY(D6))
Sorry I forgot you wanted the Day first.

This will switch it around, or you can format the cell to match what you need.
    =TEXT(DATE(YEAR(D6),MONTH(D6),DAY(D6)),"dd/mm/yyyy")

    I6:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =Int(D6)
    format as Short Date

    Re: Formula / Timestamp

All the formulae will work provided you have a valid (looking) date in cell D6. Note that the last formula will actually product a text string as output. This just "looks like a date". It will not have the underlying numeric value representing the date.

You're better off just formatting the cell as you wish.
