Question excel 2010 how do I reference current workbook and named range in a formula

    Hi

I hope someone can help me please?

I inherited a workbook that is used to share the forecast of how many we are going to sell across each product group (I work in a manufacturing company)

We have changed our SAP Product hierarchy, and I've been amending the sheet and macro's to incorporate this and had to create a few new sheets, which need a graph presenting the key figures.

But I've come across a issue which I need help fixing, please?

I'm using excel 2010, how do I reference current workbook and named range in a formula, please?

I've looked at the formula's on a twin sheet and wish to replicate them into the new charts, and there are 2 both pointing to named ranges, and I'm stuck.

I've tried searching but I think perhaps I'm not using the right terminology as the pages I'm finding aren't really helping me.

I really look forward to hearing from you

    Thank you in advance
    Clair

Are you talking about something simple like the one below. Change the [workbook name.xlsb] to whatever you have and the sheet inside the workbook should replace scorecard.

    ='[Workbook name.xlsb]Scorecard'!$A:$Z

or are you trying to go more in detail? Can you share an example of what you are looking for. Since you are working with macros I imagine you already knew about external references. You can also build your connections in the data tab under connections.

Sure, these are both copied from the chart I wish to replicate:

    =SERIES("Last 3 months",,'SOP P7 2015 (June) Hierarchy change Clair backup 18 june.xlsm'!BE0L3,6)

    =SERIES("MAT",,'SOP P7 2015 (June) Hierarchy change Clair backup 18 june.xlsm'!BE0MAT,5)

I saved a draft for me to make alterations (which is by it has such a long workbook name) but would I have to amend that each month when I create a new copy for each new period (month)

    I'm abit confused.

    Thank you
