Having list options based on a cells value

I have a table as follows in a 2nd worksheet

4 License
8 License
16 License
32 License
64 License
128 License

In the main worksheet I have Cell B2 as List that allows you to choose 4-128 no problem
Cell B1 is the number of computers

IF B1 <= 4 B2 would display all options
Now the tricky part:
IF B1 =>5 I would like to have only 8 thru 128 available to display
IF B1 =>9 then only 16 thru 128 display
etc, etc

I have been playing with nested IF Statements but not sure if this is the correct way or my syntax is off.

Thanks

To attach a Workbook
(please do not post pictures or links to worksheets)
• Click Advanced (next to quick post),
• Scroll down until you see "Manage Attachments",
• Click that then select "add files" (top right corner).
• Click "Select Files" find your file, click "open" click "upload"
• Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
• Click "Done" at bottom right to close the Attachment Manager.
• Click "Submit Reply"

Maybe use filters?

On the Home tab/Sort and Filter/Filter
Then click the drop-down arrow and uncheck all selections above what you want to show
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: Having list options based on a cells value

@protonLeah
I am not having an issue attaching a workbook. I am having a formula issue.

I am trying to create a automatic configuration.

Let Say cells D1-D4 have:

4 License
8 License
16 License
32 License

Cell B1 has a data validation list ref D1:D4

Now cell B1 is a free form numeric entry. You can enter 4 or less and all items in B1 are displayed
IF I select B1 to equal 5 (then a 4 License would not be applicable) B2 should only show D2:D4 on the list
IF I select B1 to equal 15 Then D3:D4 should be my only options in the list

Thanks

The request to attach a sample workbook, was so that we can see your data as you have it. Often, a copy/paste does not come out quite as expected here - a sample workbook solves that. Plus, many members are reluctant to retype your data for you.

So I presume you looked at filters and they are not what you wanted?

DynamicDrop.xlsx

Ahh, I understand. Newbie Duh !

I attached the Workbook. I created with a single sheet and I included the old way by creating multiple lists. I know I can create a logic statement that chooses different list but this seems clumsy BUT maybe the only way to do it.

Thanks
