CHOOSE function

Observation rather than a question.

I've used CHOOSE for some time to return general references based on simple lookup criteria. That is, in expressions like

CHOOSE(MATCH(x,list,0), . . . )

CHOOSE can return single values, arrays and range references. I've recently confirmed that it can return 3D references, e.g.,

CHOOSE(n,Sheet1!A1:B5,Sheet1:Sheet2!A1:B5,Sheet1:Sheet3!A1:B5,Sheet1:Sheet4!A1:B5, . . . )

IF can also do this, but CHOOSE is more useful.

In 2003 excel the choose list could only be 29 long. It got better in 2007 but is still only 256. See:
