    Need help using table references in VLOOKUP (or alternative solution)

    Hi,

    I am trying to use table references in a vlookup but I get #REF! errors. I have two tables ("FruitTable" and "BuyerTable") and I want to lookup the heading in the BuyerTable from within the column of the FruitTable and return a value from the third column in the FruitTable. This is my formula:

    First of all you need to understand how the VLOOKUP function works.
    First input is the value you want to look up.
    Second input is the range, where the left column is where you will find your first value. The range can stretch as far to the right as you want but shall at least include the column where your result is found.
    The third input is just a number that says which column in the second input that the result is found in. Just a number.

    There is also a 4th parameter True (Approximate match and false (exact match)

    Try this in B11 Copy across

    Thanks all.
    As per my OP, I wanted to use table references throughout the formula. nHowever, it appears that col_index_num does not support use of these. therefore, the closest I can get to my requirement is as follows:
