    Conditional Formatting w/ Data Bars

Is it possible to use conditional formatting w/ data bars in cell A3 based off of cells M3 through P3 containing any value. So technically M3 would be the min and P3 would be the max. I would like to see a data bar in A3 increase as data is entered into cell M3, N3, O3, and finally P3.

    Example1.xlsx

If this isn't possible, is there an alternative way to get the output I am looking for?

    Thank you

Re: Conditional Formatting w/ Data Bars

    Hi,

Have a look at the formatting in the attached file. It uses an IF statement to put a number in cell A3 (0 means no data in M/N/O/P3, up to 4 means data in all of them), which then is turned into a data bar. The formatting is repeated in rows 5/7/9/11 so you can see each result.
CF data bar from other cells.xlsx

Unfortunately, at the moment I can't see any way to do this in cell A3 of your worksheet, as there's already an IF statement there. Maybe a small column adjacent to it?

I'll have a think and see if I can come up with something better, but hopefully the above helps a bit.

I think what you are looking for is called "Sparklines"

this explains how to use them.

I have no experience in using them so hopefully a Guru will be able to help you.

Thank you! I added a small column adjacent to A3 along with your IF formula, and it worked perfectly.
