Need formula for calculating percent increase/decrease across a series of ranked numbers

I have a list of U.S. states in column A.

Column B has each state's specific ranking for time period (Z)

Column C has each state's specific ranking for time period (W)

Column D has each state's specific ranking for time period (M)

I need a formula that can calculate the % increase across these three columns.

Example:

Alaska (Rank=9 for time period Z), (Rank=25 for time period W), (Rank=45 for time period M)

What is the percent increase/decrease btwn 9 to 25 to 45?

Then I also need the TOTAL % change.

Can this be done in Excel?

I'm not sure what you mean by a percentage increase - are you saying it is the change from 9/50 to 25/50, and then from 25/50 to 45/50, and that the total is from 9/50 to 45/50 ??

Please advise.
