Hyperlinks being emailed

I am attempting to hyperlink from one excel file to another. I have them saved in the same folder on my desktop which is working. However, when I email them out, both files, the link says "cannot open specified file". I have verified in "edit links" the path seems correct.

Any advise or direction?

When you edit hyperlink, by any chance, are you looking at the top field?

Does the "Address" on bottom still point to the location of the other workbook?

both show the correct path. When I hover in the cell with the hyper link, it shows a different path. It appears to be the "temp" file where the email is trying to store, but I saved to my desktop.

Did you save both files to the desktop, then open the one with the link - or did you save the one file (that was linked to) and open the one with the link from the email?

Saved both files to the desktop. Then opened the one with the links, said could not open file, manually opened file, still wouldnt link...

Ok, wanted to exhaust those possibilities.

Send over an example if possible. I've never needed to do this, but seems like you could code the workbook_event to re-point those hyperlinks upon opening.

Basically, I would have it loop through the links and 'figure out' the proper path (via some known relative reference compared to the workbook that is opening). That should fix it for sure - it would be the same as editing each one manually.

This was an internal issue with our network. Was able to email outside network and it works! Thank you so much for your help!
