    conditional formatting - positional

    hi,

    newish to conditional formatting and cannot find the answer to my query anywhere.

    In summary, I need to highlight a cell based on information from a cell to the right....

    Ex I can add a rule to highlight the 'lunch' text in column J but I need to highlight the cell in column h on the same row ?

    any help much appreciated

    Just APPLY the CF highlighting for column J to column H

    thanks Richard, seems straightforward. I just can't see how to APPLY the CF highlighting ? Nothing in the CF tab ?

    Hi,

    In the window pane that shows the buttons for OK..Cancel..Apply there's a drop down box headed 'Applies To'. Just add a reference to your column H & J range
