    Frequency and Future Planning

    Hi everyone,

I know this is probably really simple and I am just overlooking something.

What I am trying to do is predict furture spendings and planning for maintenance for a proposed budget. What I have is multiple maintenance plans that use a qty of materials. These plans are set at different monthly periods and I need to be able to propose a budget for the next say 200 months.

What I am hoping is possible, is that I can create a formula that will look at the frequency in colum A, look at the month offset in row B2 and onwards and put the QTY in the corresponding months with the allowance to offset as I have manually put in for the 2 month plans.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

Looking at what you have supplied. It looks to be what I am after.

Also what I would like to be able to do is manipulate the start period of the plans.
ie. First call for the 8 month falls on the 8th month or when we would like. 24 on the 24th etc.

    Is this possible?

The plan number colum was only to indicate multiple options available on the same maintenance planning frequency. I think it may be better to have maybe a start month in there or something or remove it all together?

    Frequency and future planning.xlsx

I have added some extra details. I have left the formula in that you provided before. I have change the name of the colum to give an idea of what I would like to be bale to do with that colum. This colum will be a manual enter colum if we need to be able to adjust plans to suit.

    Hope this helps?

    Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behavior, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

Thanks again for all your hard work here!

    Re: Frequency and Future Planning

I felt it is very difficult to explain the formula or the answer without opening the workbook in this case. Wherever it is possible for me I am trying explaining the answer.
    Thanks for the suggestion.
