PPMT Function

Hi Guys,

How do I use the PPMT function to return the princple from payments 1-12 combined?

is working fine for the first payment, but I want it to return payments 1 - 12. If I use

it works fine, but thought there would be an easier way.

I'm trying to work out how much principle I have each year, rather than monthly basis.

perhaps CUMPRINC function? (not a finance man!)
