Hi, in column B I have the numbers 1 to 40, I want to conditional format column B based on the Values of column C being less than 4 but keeping the numbers 1 to 40 in column B.

Assuming that your data start in b2(headers in row1), then highlight your range in column b and in CF rules use this formula.

How can you use Conditional Formating.
--In Excel 2007 and 2010, Conditional Formatting is in the Styles group on the Home tab. In Excel 2003, Conditional Formatting is on the Format menu. See here how you can work using CF.
