Help please ( I need to know how to highlight a cell with result of another cell )

I’m new to excel and really could do we some advice

I have setup a conditional formatting on Cells G to change colour depending on the numbers typed in being higher, equal or lower then cells in row F

What I want to know is how to get the cells J,K & L to change colour to the same as Row G

I.e. is Cell G1 goes Red I want it to highlight in cell J1

if G1 is the same as F1 ( This goes amber and so should k1 ) etc.

finally I need to know how to set up so if G1 is lower than H1 then j1 goes red

If G1 is above h1 but below f1 then k1 is highlighted

Any help I will be very grateful of

Use same Conditional formatting for JKL as you've used for G column.

I did try this but all it does is colour all them cells Red

Select cells J9:J21, click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a formula... , then put this formula in the dialogue box:

=$G9<$F9

Click the Format button | Fill tab and choose Red. Then click OK twice to exit the dialogue box and to apply those conditions.

Select L9:L21 and repeat, but use this formula:

=$G9>$F9

and choose green as the colour.

Select K9:K21 and repeat, but use this formula:

=AND($G9=$F9,$G9<>"")

and choose amber as the colour.
