    Multiple acct Budget droplist

    I have create a budget data sheet. I have multiple accounts that I want to subtract the amount from as I enter the information in the data sheet.

    Problem: J4:J100 has a drop list of nine account names; I4:I100 is the amounts entered. N4:N12 is my drop list reference which are the accounts names. O4:O12 are my beginning Balances and P4:P12 are my totals for each account. I want to setup a formula in P4:P12 that will subtract the amounts (i.e. I4:I100) in N4:N12 based on what account shows in the drop list of J4:J100.

    I have tried the "IF" but was not able to get it to work for all cells only one in P4:P12

    The only formula I could come up with is: =IF(Data[Who''s Account Paid]="Acct",[@[Beginning]]-Data[Actual],"")

    Please Help

    Something like this?

    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Then drag that down P4:P12

    If N4 is blank it will subtract zero and if O4 is blank it will be negative (if O4 is text it will thrown an error code).
