    VLOOKUP returning the wrong value

I am trying to us a VLOOKUP formula to indicate a daily FTE value based upon the hours an employee works.
I am calculating the hours in column C and using the VLOOKUP in column D. I've ensured that the hours data is formatted the same way.
However, the value it returns is not matching up with the hours in the table.

I am quite frustrated. Any input would be welcome.
    Thank you!

Try sorting your table in ascending order. I believe Vlookup with True needs it that way.

Re: VLOOKUP returning the wrong value

a couple issues, one you should probably use FALSE in the vlookup instead of TRUE because TRUE is approximate and requires sorting in ascending order.
next is your time of day column (I) has AM in it that your column C cells do not have. C is simply hour differences between columns A and B.

EDIT: BTW, I retyped your 8:30:00 into cell I11 and it matched three of your five samples. I'm suspecting there is something else throwing off the numbers, maybe hidden spaces?

Re: VLOOKUP returning the wrong value

Sorting in ascending order worked great. Thank you! I had to use the TRUE in the VLOOKUP because of the subtle variability in the calculations of column C.
A FALSE in the VLOOKUP would have required a massive reference table. Thank you for all the help!!
