I make the duty roster in excel file with the duties being divided into 3 shifts per day.
I want to ensure that from a set of 3 persons, X,Y and Z, only one may get any of the shifts on a particular day. If I put the names of any two of them, can I get an error message in any form so that I can change it?

In the Columns L,M,N,O,P I have been to able to set the function for 2 variables. What I need is a set of 3 Variables out of which if any two have duty on a particular day, the "error" is shown.
