    want to add numerator and denominator

    hii..
    i have a value which is =3/5. I want to add both these denominator and numerator means wants to add 3 and 5.
    I want a formula that will identify the numerator and denominator and give addition of them.
    kindly reply.

    When you say you have =3/5, what does that mean? Is that a formula? Or a text entry?

    yeah.3/5 is a result of a formula also.but i want to add numerator and denominator.

    1) If x and y are positive integers, is {x/y} <{{x+2}/{y+3}}?

    Statement #1: y > 20
    Statement #2: x < 5

    2) If x and y are positive integers, is {x/y} <{{x+5}/{y+5}}?

    assume that I am talking about positive fractions with a positive numerator and positive denominator. If the fraction is negative, use the information below to figure out what happens to the absolute value of the fraction, and judge from there.

    Statement #1: y = 5
    Statement #2: x > y
