    Conditional Formatting not working properly

I have a list made up for a group of people that gain points every week. I have the total points for each person in a column and have set conditional formatting to highlight 3rd place a color, 2nd place a color and 1st place a color. The problem is is that it worked perfect when I set it up, I saved and then closed it. Now when I opened it back up the conditional formatting is not working, it highlights all as 1st place. When I email it to someone it works fine for them. Im using Excel 2016 if that matters. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

I don't think there's much anyone can do based on a simple description of a problem you are experiencing, especially if you send it to someone else and it works OK. We'd at least have to see an example to see if it works or fails for us.

Re: Conditional Formatting not working properly

OK, it seems to be working for me, too

    B10 (61) is RED
    B13 (57) is YELLOW
    B7 (58) is GREEN

(you have riles 1 and 3 repeated in your CF rules list, you should delete teh duplicate rules)

Also, in the Applies To, you could just use this for each rule...
    =$B$4:$B$35

Re: Conditional Formatting not working properly

In all honesty, I don't know if it is working as expected. I'm not sure how the "Top 1" is selected from several equal values ... but it seems to do it consistently.

I think you may have more CF conditions than you need, and the range selection is more complex than it needs to be. For example, you have some repetition, some repetition of ranges with different formats for the same condition, "Top 1" applied to single cells, etc.

I'd be inclined to remove it all and re-apply it. Given that percentages will all be small numbers, less than 1, I think you can afford to apply the CF conditions to rows 4 to 35 in each column, which simplifies it. Having said that, I have tried it and I appear to get the same cells highlighted ... but I think it would be more manageable.

    See the attached updated example.
