Using vlookup to create bar chart

Hi I'm trying to create a bar chart from data from another sheet. Also depending on what person is chosen / typed in.

So example if I request 'James' - I need a bar chart for James's: Sales, expenses & returns - like in the attached.

So I was thinking I need to uses Vlookups in the bar chart data?

Please help, many thanks in advance

Better to use a pivot chart - change your data structure to allow it, and you will be better off in all ways. The attached shows the Pivot Chart and the required data structure. Choose the employee from the page filter.
