    VLOOKUP and Duplicate Values

    Good evening all,

I am requesting your expertise once again. I have another project that involves VLOOKUP. Here's what I need:

In tab, RandomNos, the numbers in column A are the Actual CD #s. Each Actual CD # was given a very specific alternate # found in column B, Random CD#.

In tab 2012 and 2013 we will be creating financial tables dealing with these Actual CD #s. In these tabs, I need to fill in column B (Assigned Random #) based on a VLookup formula that will pull that number from the Random CD # (from tab, RandomNos).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

    Here!

Put this on B2 and drag down

    =VLOOKUP(A2,RandomNos!$A$1:$B$423,2,0)
    Cheers!

Wow, it worked (even with the duplicates)! So, the $ symbol makes all the difference? Thanks a bunch!!

    Re: VLOOKUP and Duplicate Values

Actually, the $ locks ranges.. And the duplicates don't matter in such situations..

If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED. Thanks.
