Please post a file showing expected results.

    Try ..

    =AND(TEXT($C$6,"mmmm")<>$X$7, TEXT($C$7,"mmmm")<>$X$7,TEXT($C$8,"mmmm")<>$X$7)

Re: Conditional formatting Stuck in Range

    Make separate rules for C6 , C7 and C8

i.e repeat C6 CF for cells C7 and C8 with "applies to" single cell i.e C7 only, C8 only

Re: Conditional formatting Stuck in Range

    Just confirm
If the value in x7 is September and the values in c6 = sept, and the value in c7 and c8 are any other month; then you want the c7 and c8 to highlight?
If this is the case the you just need to remove the $ from in front of the "6", so $c$6 becomes $c6.
    Peter

    =TEXT($C6,"mmmm")<>$X$7)

    thanks for reply.

this is the main big issue "Make separate rules for C6 , C7 and C8" which i dont want to make it separate bcz when i drag down across the date from C6 to C8 the Conditional formatting settings get messed up and the formula in "Conditional formatting" dos'nt work correctly

that's why i need it in to "C6:C8" in range so Conditional formatting setting work in all options i.e Copy past/ drag and drop or drag down across

Hope there is a solution for this issue

    Regards
