Changing a formula cell to a standard cell on double click.

    Hi guys,

I have a spreadsheet where many of the cells contain formulas which draw cell values from a separate spreadsheet for display.

When I double click on a cell, I get the formula rather than the displayed value, as expected.

I want to set the sheet up so that when I double click on one of the formula cells, the cell gets rid of the formula and keeps
the displayed value, which can then be edited directly.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks.

    Hi Zookopf
Why dont you just copy the cell.. and in the same cell paste it as VALUE.. (press Alt + E + S + V and Enter)

Hi Debraj, that's what I would do if the sheet was intended for me. Problem is, I'm making this sheet for people who may or may not know that excel formulas even exist
and I know from past experience that if a sheet doesn't function exactly as they are used to, I get an army of people coming to ask me stupid questions and
complain that my spreadsheet is broken.

It's worth it for me to make the spreadsheet as user friendly as I can, before I send it out.
