current moth MTD performance with last year same month same days performance

Hi,

I have excel file with day wise sales data from 2012 to upto date. I want to compare current moth month to date performance with last year same month with only capturing sales up to the current day. i.e. 1 to 15th Nov 2015 with 1 to 15th Nov 2014.

For current month I can populate the numbers with sumif/sumifs but how can i populate the last year numbers with only capturing sales up to the current day? which formula I need to use?

Can you please help me out how to put the data of this year current running last 7 days data Vs last year 7 day data. I.e if on 2nd Dec, I need data like this. last 7 days data of current running dates 26th Nov to 2nd Dec compare with last year same date range (26th Nov to 2nd Dec 2014) and on 3 rd Dec the forumla should populate 27th Nov to 3rd Dec 2015 and 27th Nov to 3rd Dec of 2014 and so on...
